چکیده
Objective: To determine the correlation between intravesical prostatic protrusion and maximum flow rate in benign hyperplasia among Nigerian men.
Materials Methods: A cross-sectional prospective study that included patients who presented to Urology clinic of Jos University Teaching Hospital with clinical features BPE. Each had IPSS, Qmax IPP measured addition evaluation. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS(R) version 20 (SPSS, IBM, Chicago, IL, USA). Appropriate test statistics were used p-value < 0.05 considered as significant.
 Results: Eighty-seven aged 40 - 86 years enrolled period. The means age, Qmax, PV 64.6±10.2 years, 16.7±7.6, 8.2± 3.8 ml/s, 12.9±7.0 mm 70.1±50.3 mis respectively. correlated negatively (r=-0.519, p=0.000).
Conclusion: Intravesical measurement is non-invasive, easily accessible, reproducible more cost effective. It showed a significant Qmax. Therefore, it valuable parameter for evaluation BPH.

Relationship between Intravesical Prostatic Protrusion and Postoperative Outcomes in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
PURPOSE To evaluate the significance of intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP) for predicting postoperative outcomes in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 177 patients with a possible follow-up of at least 6 months who were treated with transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) were analyzed. We divided the patients into two groups on the basis ...

متن کاملCorrelation of Male Overactive Bladder with Intravesical Prostatic Protrusion
PURPOSE Male overactive bladder (OAB) may be caused by prostatic pathologies such as bladder outlet obstruction (BOO). Intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP) has been found to correlate with BOO and acute urinary retention. We investigated the interrelation between male OAB symptoms and IPP for estimating anatomical changes to the prostate. MATERIALS AND METHODS We assessed 179 consecutive m...

Thirty cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia and 30 cases of prostatic adenocarcinoma were selected and stained by AgNOR (argyrophilic staining of the nucleolar organizer region) method. Specimens were obtained by either prostatectomy (open!TIJR) or needle biopsy of the prostate. In this study, the sections of prostatic adenocarcinoma were reviewed. 6 cases were diagnosed as well-differen...
